Renewable energy infrastructures are often located in hostile environments (sea, desert) where maintenance is extremely expensive.

  • Offshore wind: Parylene is used to protect nacelle sensors (anemometers, thermometers) and control units from highly corrosive salt spray.
  • Solar photovoltaic: It protects the inverter control circuits from moisture and thermal cycling.
  • Advantage: Its lifespan of more than 25 years corresponds to the life cycles of these installations, whereas conventional varnishes would degrade in a few years.
